brake warning light

My brake warning light stays on but acts like it wants to go off. Kind of very low brightness and flickers. Sound like a ground issue or sensor in the master going bad? Brakes are fine, new master, fluid full. Thanks!

Did you check to make sure your brake light switch under the parking brake is in good working order or if the parking brake is hitting it in the right spot to shut it off?

No, I didn't know the park brake had anything to do with the warning light. Thanks, I'll check it.

This is often a couse of the flickering brake light - the thin metal strip that hits the brake light switch under the handel is sometimes bent inward. It should be square and parallel to the e-brake handle. The metal is too thin in my opinion and I have cut a small rubber washer to fit in and maintain the spacing. Also check your fluid level

So based on the service letter, what all can trigger the brake warning light to stay on?

1. Low brake fluid level (leak, low, etc)
2. Faulty hand brake switch (always making contact)
3. ?

Anything else that causes it to stay on?

Check the adjustment of the brake light switch that's activated when the brake pedal is pushed. It's mounted just above the pedal and when the pedal is pushed, a plunger drops down and completes the light circuit.

Did you sort this out? The only things that trigger it are the parking brake switch and the fluid level switch.

I unplugged the bulb for now. It looks like the PO cut out/removed the hand brake switch

In my 1980 the fluid level is activated by a float switch. There is a plastic float that when it goes down due to low fluid level, it makes contact and causes the light to go on.
Turns out my plastic bubble is filled with brake fluid, not air, so it sinks. I'm going to try to get the fluid out and resell the float. Anyone done this before? The plastic is old and I dunno what could be used to reveal it. Any tips would be appreciated.
