hello all,
i have a 1980 fuel-injected fiat spider. my current issue is that the red "fasten seatbelts" light on the dash stays on indefinitely as long as the ignition is on. connecting the seatbelts doesn't turn it off. shouldn't it normally turn off a few seconds after starting the car? is this a problem with the sealbelt delay relay under the glove box? if so, where can i get a new one?
thanks!
seatbelt indicator light stays on
Re: seatbelt indicator light stays on
Relays are readily available, generally, but I'm not sure if the seat belt relay is a standard Bosch type. If it is (5-pin), then pull it out and take it to a good auto parts shop and find a match. Alternatively, there are online sources for relays, but I find it's hard to judge unless you have a specific part number to go by.
Check for all tight wiring connections as well. You should be able to test the relay once you pull it off the car, to be sure it is bad.
