LOL, I'm with Rodman. But 3 pool noodles at about a dollar each should do the trick. Use some string, and hang them horizontally about 10 inches apart like a fence. Hang it between the cars. kind of like this:http://www.auto-care.com/hangingdg.html

fix a few flexible magnets to the noodle with "masking" tape, and stick the noodle horizontally to the car, like a huge chrome stick ?

Don't put an garage opener in her car. That should help enforce the 'don't pull into the garage'..

Of course, she'll be able to pull out of the garage, and just leave it open..

I have a flannel car cover from The California Car Cover Company that I have on my car all the time when it's in the garage. Keeps it from getting dusty and protects it from damage. I can't tell you where to find one, but I've seen pads that stick to the side of a car with magnets for door ding protection. Perhaps Griot's Garage has them. I know it's easy for me to say, but hang in there with your mother-in-law. Your wife will appreciate it and you'll be building up positive karma for when you become old!

you could always get a roll of bubble wrap from the UPS store and cut a peice big enough to lay over the top of the window then close the door letting it hang to the floor. this doesnt work well with households that have children because they will stand there and pop the bubbles till they are gone!
