Huh, never noticed my speedometer needle sitting like that. I thought there was a stop peg on it to keep the needle from dropping. As for the gremlins, be careful. They live under the seats so if you should see one and try to stomp it, make sure you kill it or you'll be rewiring your whole dash like on my 71.
