Hi Srwilson,

The adhesive is a 3M product, link below. Also yes, you will have to apply heat when laying the vinyl down. You need heat to work it into the recessed areas and that takes some time and heat. Like I said in the beginning of the thread, I didn't work out from me the first time. The result you see is actually my third attempt. One suggestion is work the face profile first allowing the material to relax down and then work it over the top of the dash, lapping at least 1" over the edges to secure the vinyl. Once these areas are down, smoothed out and secure, I then worked all the recessed areas in with heat. You'll need to make a slit almost in the center of the vinyl to release the material tension. But be careful to not come too close to the open end of the dash because that is the material you'll need to cover those recessed area. I hope this helps you.

Hello Everyone-

UPDATE- I finished re-cover that dash about one month ago and since then it has sat on my workbench. I was fitting the vents and realized there were a couple of area that lifted and bubbled up. So this means I have to redo it once more But before I do I will have to do a little more research and see if there is a better adhesive for this type project. Thinking maybe 3M's Super 77 adhesive might be better? Do any of you have suggestions?

That amazing, I may have to just try that but fear my skills not as good as your. Would you give more detail explanation of how you when about doing it?

Did the body filler ever crack in the sun? I tried doing this awhile back but after I had finished I thought I would test it before I reinstalled my dash. So I left it in the sun for 30min. and came back only to find that the foam had pulled away from the body filler. I am newb.. so I probably made some stupid glitch somewhere along the process.

This is outstanding! If you wouldn't mind detailing the materials you used most of us here would be very greatful. Specifically the exact vinyl and filler used would be very helpful. I see the adhesive is still unsure 3m seems to be best anything that is permanent.
