Hey Mark, what's the status of this? Will it have "idiots" (but trying to learn) installation instructions?

We'll have the first units next week. The mfg called yesterday and the housings, harness, plug wires are done. Coil brackets will be in early next week. They're making a tach adapter now. It will come with instructions but will be VERY easy to install.

correct, this unit replaces the distributor and all electronics. All of the electronics are contained in the new unit.
It includes a remote coil pack.

Please let me know as soon as this is available and the price. I am tired of fighting the ignition system on my 78.

Will this work with the alternator on the left side?

We will be fitting a unit with the left side alternator. I believe the upper alternator bracket will have to be modified. The new unit is very compact, so I'm optomistic it won't be much of an issue.

we installed the first unit today and did beta testing. I'm happy to announce the unit works and fits flawlessly. 60000 volts using a waste spark system. Simple to install, incredibly easy to set timing. Here are some pics of the unit in an 1800, 2.0FI and X1/9;

To fit an FI engine, the alternator bracket needs two bends put in. We'll be offering a replacement bracket for those that don't want to bend theirs.

Mark,

If you camera has one, use the macro function for those close up shots. It will allow you to focus at close proximity.

Mark, does the auxilliary lobe have to be set correctly for this unit?

no, it doesn't matter where the aux shaft is. Merely set the static timing where you want it (5, 10, 15 btdc), turn the key on and turn the unit until the led lights. Tighten it down and you're done. The unit can go in at any position and will work in either that position or rotated 180 degrees.

What makes this better than the Electromotive HPX system? Seems like this is a knockoff. Will be be cheaper?
