Yeah Steve, you're right about the costs, but because I will have an entire year of work for saving cash before coming back to wrench on the car I think I will have a reasonable budget to spend on it. I'm not saying I want to trash 10k Euro but of course I've realized that it will take a good amount of money to have it perfectly running and after all the efforts I'm putting into it I just want to have it as good/reliable as possible. I think it's a fair compromise to be honest since the car is worh every cent and scuffed knuckle I'm spending into it.

As for the cams, I should have already found a set of cams from a 1.8 and 2.0 engine and I wasn't aware that they are the same as the ones from the 1.4! So, following this argument, if I find some street performance cams for the 1.8/2.0 engine, this means that they will work for my engine too?
I will have the head port polished along with the other machining stuff I have to do and since I have to replace also the valves I was wondering if I have to match them to the port polishing job? I'd like to have a better "breathing" engine while I'm there and I think that I'm not going to spend too much cash compared the standard parts. Is it a good reasoning or am I missing something?
In the future I could also upgrade the carb and the exhaust header if I do all these small upgrades... I'm not lookng for huge amount of performance, as I said I would like to have the engine more "rev-happy". I will also take the stock flywheel to the machine shop for shaving off some weight and replace the stock ugly filter with a couple of intake trumpets/velocity stacks.

As I've always said, I'm not in a hurry, I'm taking my time to do and understand what I'm doing. As for dismantling it all seemed quite easy, it will be fun once I have to put everything back together... lol!

Also, I'm sending you a PM about the oversize pistons. I've found some NOS 80.4mm Nova here in Italy and I'd like to know if you think they're the right ones.
