Well maybe im not cleaning the right part. WhenI unscrew the solinoid I have been cleaning the brass jet behind it. was this wrong? the solinoid when energized does click but I did not clean inside it. Will work on it some more whe I get off .I can get idle speed down to 700 when it warms up but it is rougher than a cob.It lopes as if it has a performance cam in it but most of the time I just think its running like crap.Would this make it miss or at least sound like it?

Carb problems solved, now Im convenced that the miss is firing related .New plugs, new wires, new electronic ignition and good compression. A full 12 v to ignition system, will have to give this a long think.I have lost the paper work to the fireball 3000 so does anyone know if a resister is needed? My 78 cutlass required one when I installed one in 83. Just wondering.Im open to all ideas as to what may be my last obstical . hopefully Dennis

Carb solved----no more dribbling??

Resistor, or no resistor, is not going to make it "miss" at idle.

I will continue to look for another one ,Other than the booster leaking and I will plug it again and see if results Are different than the last time.

Magic & joe, Thanks, you were both right, the fast idle solinoid was not working consistantly so when I fixed that,it ran 60% better. I went ahead and cut the leaking booster out and WALLA, had a smooth idle with very little surge while driving. Although ,after I put about 60 miles on it today it was not running quit as smooth as it was when I left home.I will investigate that when I get off this night shift. Thanks to ALL that have put in their knowledge and 2cents worth to guide me to the point I am now.I will keep you posted. Dennis
