Well, I walked out to the garage the other day, and what do I see but another small puddle under the Spider (I really do need to remove the engine and replace some seals, a good winter project). The newest puddle is under the rear of the car, the L/H side of the panhard rod seems to be leaking...that's weird
no, the panhard rod can't be leaking, wasn't the caliper either, wait... what's this?
or rather, what was it.
I didn't know where the valve was until it started leaking. Figured since it wasn't the first proportioning valve I've had trouble with and bypassed (older Toyota 1/4 tons), I'd do it again.
Initial (brief road test) impressions, I'd do it again.
As always, YMMV .

Re: Brake Compensator/Proportioning Valve Removal
I would strongly suggest you not perform this modification. The valve is there for a very good reason, there have been numerous posts on this so I won't go into chapter and verse about it aside from saying:
Rear brake lockup in an emergency stop (the primary use mode where this valve is ever used) when you have full front suspension compression with lots of weight transfer to the front wheels and very little weight or traction from the rear, is not a a situation you want to find yourself in.
