I need to replace the shifter on a 1980 Fiat Spider 2000 with an Automatic Transmission.
The neutral safety switch on the car is failing meaning that I have to play with the shifter in order to get the neutral safety switch to engage and allow the car to start. The neutral safety switch is part of the shifter assemply and it was actually easier and cheaper to buy the entire shifter assemply than it was to buy a neutral safety switch. Here's my question:
- Does anyone have any experience changing the shifter? Any tips will be appreciated
(Note: Just to prevent comments, the neutral safety switch on my Fiat is NOT interchangeable with the Chevy Chevette)
Thanks in advance for your help,
