Thanks for the whishes. Nope, the shop is still intact, I have'nt played with the welder yet. I was told to clean the sawdust up first before sparking the welder up.
Busy finally at the mill, been slow the past couple of months.
Had a good day, the weather has finally turned and is warm during the day,25 deg C so the fiat has been taking me and three dogs to work. The brix in the grapes is climbing finally and I have a cool guiness in the fridge. Going to shim the new head with Marks cams and Jason's cam wheels ( If the guiness does'nt get in the way).
Yeup a great day :D :D

What kind of Mill?
Logs? Just rough cutting trees on a line saw or slabs, kiln drying, s4s, gang ripped lumber, oak, pine. just to name a few. I grew up in a mill and around mills here in MN and Wis. I don't miss it one bit. But I love the experience it brought me.

Its a custom cutting operation,a one man show. Cut primarily Douglas fir logs and some red cedar. I have cut some yellow cedar for some unique jobs. There is no shortage of pine around here, but the stuff grows with a spiral and when cut and dried will twist too much for building,so I don't cut Pine much at all.I cut 8 X 8 posts, 8 X12 beams ect to 41 feet if needed. I'll cut VG and run it through my dry kiln (2500 bdft/charge) if needed as well. The mill is a Wood Mizer band mill, great results with the computer setting the blade height.
I have a shop with a 24 inch planer for surfacing and other wood tools that make a great place to put fiat parts on
I spent 25 years heli- logging and falling all over BC and I don't miss that one bit, this is a cakewalk by comparison but money is not the same though...give and take I suppose.
Thanks again for the wishes people, One day going to have to make a trip out east in the fall. Going to buy a lottery ticket today.
