I'll start this thread here as it could be engine or electrical / FI. Car is a 1980 2 L FI. Yntuil today it has been running great, maybe too good? Anyway, on the way to work this morning it started to stumble and miss and lose power. Not complete loss but like it was only firing about half the time. Then just as quickly it went back to running great.
If you look at my past threads you'll see that I've done a lot to get it to be a reliable good running car. I had a problem where all power would just go away and I finally traced that to a high reistance contact point on the power lead from the alternator to the fuse box. Since I replaced that lead it has run well without issue. Today's stumbling was different; again not a loss of total power but like the injectors or plugs were only firing about half the time.
Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a temp. sensor going bad? The only other recent change is our weather which has colled off significantly. Instead of 70 to 80 degrees it is now 50 in the morning.
