Hardware sizes

Post by GregJ »

Hello all, first time fiat owner (it's a gift for my wife) and first time poster.

I have a 76' 124 and am replacing the hardware after painting the car (nuts & bolts, nothing major) and seemed to have lost the nuts for the trunk lid.

Does anyone have a link or an image of the hardware sizes? This time around I just need to know the specs for the 4 nuts that bolt the trunk hinges to the boot.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers.

Been there, done that (too many times LOL). Just for future reference, ziploc baggies, some labels and a sharpie pen are your friends!

@kilrwail,
Thank you, very much.

@wikkid,
Definitely. I've got a 67' mustang I'm restoring as well and have somewhere around 100 of those in a pile. I learned my lesson ;)

But... they are zinc plated and not zinc cadmium plated (gold color) Also they do not have the intregal washer attached to the nut. And, I'll still sell them cheaper than the Depot.

There are many, many nuts and bolts on the spider that would be extremly hard to find in the right length, thread pitch, and most importantly harness, if you lost one. You could surf the McMaster Carr website for the better part of an hour trying to find a bolt that "will work if I cut 5mm of the end of a grade 10.8 bolt" and pay $15. Or I have one that fits perfectly for less than $5... I'm just sayin is all.

Just pullin' your chain Matt. We have a place here called Ottawa Fastener Supply that has 200 ft of bins 6 ft high with every imaginable nut, bolt, cap screw, washer, grommet, etc. Better than any catalogue - and they have tools too! Heaven! :D
