So best I can tell, the brake fluid is leaking into the booster. It doesn't seem to be leaking out of the car anywhere, so this is my best guess.
I have to refill the fluid every 200 miles or so, and as long as I do, the brakes still work. Not fantastically, but they stop the car, more or less.
I know Mark's site (Allisonsautomotive.com) was advertising master cylinders and upgraded brake boosters awhile back, and my guess is that this would fix my problem and drastically improve braking at the same time. I don't see either listed presently.
Mark, do you still have these?
Anyone else -- any other thoughts on this issue?
upgraded brake booster? fluid leak...
Re: upgraded brake booster? fluid leak...
I have master cylinders, but I get boosters rebuilt as I need them
Re: upgraded brake booster? fluid leak...
You may not need a booster but just a master cylinder. When the booster goes out you know it, because there is almost always a new vacuum leak to go with it. But a brand new brake master cylinder would help with that leak ( I would beat).
