Does anyone know of a method to remove PO installed pinstripes from a car? Not sure if they are adhesive or some type of heat tape but they are ugly and not easily pulled up.

Take a hair dryer and heat them. Once you get the corner up. Slowly pull them up. They should come off.

If there is any adhesive remaining I suggest you try De-Solv-It. http://www.orange-sol.com/household/index.html I have bottles of this stuff that are 25 years old that I still use to remove stickers from stores, tar, anything sticky. Great stuff.

Goo Gone can be used after your get them lifted off using hair dryer.
It removes all sticky glues.
It's good stuff and sold at Lowes, and many other hardware stores.

PPG also sells a solvent just for removing the glue from stickers without harming the paint. I just used it on my X19 racecar.

Having some success with the pinstripes. One door was a piece of cake - the minimal glue left cleaned up using rubbing alcohol in just a few moments.

The other 3 panels I have done are slow going with tons of adhesive residue. Hair dryer helps lots. So does pulling on the stripes at an angle greater than 90 degrees - less prone to breaking.

Followup: drenching a rag with rubbing alcohol and laying it on residual adhesive for several minutes make glue cleanup much, much easier.
