Dash and Seat Question

Post by dadandson »

Will a 2000 spider dash fit in a '78 124 spider? Also, will the 2000 seats fit in this car w/out modifications?

the dash itself and seats will bolt right in. the difference may be in the instrument cluster and the seatbelt arrangement. Dont know about the 78, but the 2000 has a 5 instrument cluster (gas, speedo, tach, clock, temp). If the 78 has an oil pressure gage then you will have some wiring issues i can help you with. i would assume that the 78 has a shoulder belt. if so, you should be good to go.

Thank you. The 78 has shoulder belts as well as the "80 2000. The gauges are the same, but dash shape might be a little different (one has a curve above steering column, etc. If they all bolt in, we are going to be good.

Finished a complete restoration of our "80 Spider 2000 and it was totaled less than 100 miles after (someone took an illegal left in front of my son). We purchased a very clean "78 w/out running rear, engine, or seats, etc for $300 and are in the process of rebuilding another one!
