1800 intake manifold question????

just wondering what the little vaccucm valve (i guess thats what it is) does that is between my carbarator and engine block.it comes straight up and has two little hoses on it that run two the carbarator..i would like to remove it and cap it to help clean up my engine if that is possible..anyways any help on this little valve gizmo and the hoses that go to it would be great thanks..the valve gizmo appears to go straight into the intake manifold..thanks again

that is the thermovalve for the egr. If you disconnect it there is no reason to cap it

If you cap it I believe a 18mm oil pan plug works, can't remember the thred size though.

Thanks for the info. Can't believe how much smog stuff is on this car...really would like to get rid of the fuel vapor canister to but not real sure what to do with line from tank and the lines running from the carbarator..sure do enjoy working on this thing...

Where do you get an 18mm drain plug? The largest I have been able to find is 16mm. I have been searching for a plug for the exhaust manifold so I can remove the EGR system from my 77' spider,
