Hello all,
So we have a 81 spider 2000 and its been having some bizarre issues lately, now degenerating to the point where it used to run smoothly and at length but now wont even start.
Smelled burning about two weeks ago, so we opened up the ECU to do tests on our air flow meter. It turns out two of the pins are registering as open and they shouldn't be, but there also appears to be a missing relay.
There are four spots for relays to be connected. We only have three. Is this how it's meant to be?

Re: Missing relay?
Anton,
This electrical wiring diagram should help. http://www.artigue.com/fiat/wiring/Wiring_1980_1982.pdf
I have an extra ECU and several relays if you need them matt.scarton@gmail.com

Re: Missing relay?
If you look at page 7 (the 9th actual page of the pdf) you will see an illustration of the tray with the different relays and their names, locations.
I suspect the missing relay is either the power windows or the seatbelt timer relay.
If your car was running properly I don't see a missing relay as your problem.
I would churn through some of the diagnostics in the fuel injection manual. Tedious I know.

Re: Missing relay?
Ah thank you for the manuals. Looks like its the power windows relay that is missing.
Also, it turns out that pin 7 on the AFM was not making contact with its circuit board and was causing the trouble.
Thanks a bunch,
Anton
