Muffler Replacement What type

Need to replace the Muffler in my car.
As of this moment P.O. put on a cherry bomb. Very Loud and at first I liked it. Now all the neighbor are starting to get annoyed with me setting off their car alarms. What would you recomment, within a reasonable budget number.
Car is a 1979, 2000 with carb.
