Fuel Gauge Off???

Post by Dougieb »

The fuel gauge on my 1972 Spider is off. I believe that it is the gauge and not the sending unit. What should the normal fuel gauge show when the car is off? Is this right?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks for the fast responses.
I have a line on another set of gauges and can change this one out.
I will post if this works.

Well, I put a new fuel gauge in. As you can see, that was the difference. It now has the correct "range".

But I learned something else. If you have not checked the bulbs in your dash in a long time, there may be a few more bulbs burned out than you think. It is an inexpensive task but one that will bring a big difference in driving at night. These bulbs are the two that were in my old gauge. I never knew.
