Engine pull the easy way

Post by htchevyii »

I spent the day stripping a '72 Spider parts car. I went ahead and cut off the front with the sawsall, it was like a hot knife thru butter. My wife caught me sneaking it thru the front door, so I'll have to find a place for it in the garage. Sure made it easy to remove the engine and strip the eng compartment. The car had some interesting PO touches, such as a patch screwed to the fender, a floor "repair" thet they cut thru all of the crossmembers, brackets, etc and it looks like it lost a rear wheel at one time. They didn't do a Non-op, so it had $500. in back DMV fees.

Isn't it exciting to open that trunk the first time and see what treasures are inside! Here's what I got:

It looks much better in the pictures than it is. It was most likely pretty nice, before it sat for 10 years on the coast. The outer body is (was) actually pretty solid, bit the floors and rockers are getting pretty bad. It has also been hit hard in the front and the frame is bent on both sides and the shock towers are collapsing. Plus you'd have to pay over $500. in back fees to register it in CA.
