82 Cigar Lighter Dead
82 Cigar Lighter Dead
Hi, I have a dead cigar lighter on my 82. I checked the wires at the lighter and nothing. Doing some research I noticed someone mentioning some inline fuses. I do see a long red housing (about 2-1/2") under the dash behind the fuse panel. It didn't seem like it came apart and I don't like forcing anything, especially on an old vehicle. Can someone confirm this is part of the cigar wiring? It would be great if it was such an easy fix, but I don't have high hopes. Part of the challenge of owning a 30 yr old spider. Thanks in advance for any replies.

on my 78 theres a red wire going to it,
back up the wire i have a white fuse holder pushing in the side it should snap open
and replace the 10 amp fuse

when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

With the red fuse holders you need to unscrew one end of the holder to get the fuse out. I pull off the spade connector on the end I want to unscrew so the wire doesn't get twisted.
