Potential Fiat owner here...
I've grown tired of all the near-death experiences I've had on motorcycles, so I'm moving to something with a little more tin. Hopefully a 124, I've got a few irons in the fire and might have one soon.

Hi there. numerous bike riders here as well but I think you will have a hoot with a spider. Depending on what you want, the car is great stock and arguably more great with some of the many mods one can do to the car.
Good luck in the quest and post some pics when the car has been found. Do keep a lookout for the rust on the car, most rust is repairable but can get frustrating to repair.
Where do you hang the hat?

Good luck! You will find a whole bunch of very supportive people with extensive knowledge here! I made the same decision about biking myself a few years ago. Too old to hit the pavement at any speed; if I fell off while walking the thing along I would probably end up in the Hospital. <{:^)

Re: Potential Fiat owner here...
definately the way to go, I had a Hayabusa prior to purchasing our Fiat. Never had a ticket however, they have recently cracked down on speeding(street racing) so I am thankful for switch. Not to mention my wife & son will have me around a little longer

Great little cars and a good choice for an affordable vintage sports car. IMHO you can not get the cool feel and Italian styling from a Miata. If you are mechanically inclined and like tinkering this is a great car for the price. The spider is much safer than a motorcycle. However, by todays care safety standards I would not call it a safe car at 2300 pounds with no airbags, crumple zones or re-enforced cabin. Similar to a motorcycle, pure fun and easy to work on.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

It's much better than a motorcycle in a accident. Check my death of the 1980 post. Mine held up pretty well for being totaled. If I was on a bike I would have been killed.
You will love your new Fiat and this site. Great people here. Plenty of information and folks willing to help you out. Where are you locted? Check the site. You may have a local club in your area. If you do you have an instant support group.
Good luck with your hunt. I too am in the market for a new Fiat.
