Hey from Katy, TX

Hey everyone! After a couple years of Thursday night 'socials' with occasional wrench turning with 'Katsi', I was finally convinced to get myself a fiat. Right out of the gate a got a garage kept, single owner 81 red/tan Spider with 69k mi. she's in really great shape and no noticable rust. leather seats were covered, top is spectacular, interior is very clean and the dash is in pristine condition. There's nothing broken or missing, seemingly all original with the iron cross wheels. Paint is good with a few very small bumbs and bruises. There's some fuel system issues and oil ALL over the lower part of the motor, but the owner gave me a pretty good history on the car - and - yesterday with the help of katsi, posted my problem and several of you guys have already chimed in, thanks by the way. It looks like the fuel issue is pretty common, and a previous post in 2009 gave similar diagnostics. To be honest, i have previous experience with VW bugs and not so much with the water cooled engines, so this will be a new and exciting experience! Ive been hearing about this website for years from katsi, so looking forward to meeting some of you-at least on line!
