Hi from Massachusetts

Post by fisherr1 »

Hi everyone! I look forward to checking out what people have to say about their cars here on the forum. I'm from Massachusetts and own a 1978 spider. Lots of fun and have done quite a bit to get it pretty reliable, now the next step is some performance upgrades. I'll post some pictures at some point soon.
Good to be here,

Rob

Welcome aboard! I'm in Georgetown, about an hour and 45 from you, up on the North Shore. There are a few others up here, too, in Andover and Hamilton!

I'm in Andover MA. Hoping to get a little group together to do some touring. A few of us used to get together every couple of weeks and drive up to Rye NH. We would stop and have a drink and talk cars. Welcome!

In the Spring we should set a Saturday and all meet on the top of Mount Wachusett.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've always wanted to drive up there. I've only hiked up.

It used to be an annual trek on the BMW back when I rode bikes. As long as the weather is clear, the view is really nice!

Rob,
Well, it's not quite MA, but I'm in RI - Warwick to be exact. I'm a regular visitor (not a frequent poster) and you're in good hands on this site..

heyDave T! i was born and raised in the North Providence area! i moved to Georgia 16 years ago. that was where my boss's wife had a Spider and couldnt drive a stick so it just sat around the shop and we used any excuse to take it out for a spin up Mineral Spring ave. i told myself that one day i'm going to have me one of them. i will be flying home the first week of december to help my mom move down here too. she is sick of the cold winters! so while i'm up there i will be hitting walts roast beef an few NY system hot weenie joints, going to point Judith (salty bryne beach?) for some fresh seafood and make my pilgrimage to Gillette stadium. i will be buying, sealing, and freezing about 20 pounds of cod to ship back to hold me through the winter along with two gallons of Autocrat coffee syrup! i'm starting to drool already!

Haha. For what it's worth, I grew up in Rhode Island and understand all the things you crave! I worked in Warwick for a while so know it quite well. I hadn't realized how many enthusiasts were around the area, glad I found this site!

Steve, don't forget he Del's lemonade. I think you can buy it in a mix form. Head to George's of Galilee for the clam cakes when you go to Pt. Judith...
