my 1976 spider convertable

i am a new member by luck because due to an overheat problem i searched the internet for info and my search got me here. it apapears there is no end to the amount of good info for my car. currently i'm having the head rebuilt since the overheat condition appears to have be due to the head gasket failing. i check the thermostat and in fact ordered a new one. they both tested ok in hot water opening at about 200 deg f. the fan never came on due to the water in the radiator being below the temp needed to turn it on. i also hot wired the fan to confirm it worked. it did.

Agree, the "widow maker" moniker probably more over blown than "Fix It Again Tony".
