Hello from Thousand Oaks

Post by Trifle »

I have been a member for a few months but neglected to formally say hello. Hello. Hopefully pix of car show up. It is a 1978. Much to do but at least it looks pretty good. It has always lived in California. One owner had car from the beginning until, in 2010, she got just too sick and tired of the hassle of getting car smogged. So, she sold it to a retired guy who has a car dealer license. He did not know what he was in for. I bought car on eBay in August. Then the seller, as a dealer, had to get car to pass smog. Poor guy. Somehow, it passed and became my wonderful new addition to the family. As you can tell, I am not native of California. Custom plate has postal code where I grew up. My daughter is in one photo, with Boney Ridge in background. This great little car sure has quirks but it is soooo fun. And, this is a GREAT website and resource.

It sure looks nice.

Great idea with the license plate, but man, that's subtle. Not many folks are going to figure that one out. Bet it even gets by a few Canadians.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum. I live in the Agoura Hills area and would love to get together with other Fiat owners for discussions, rides etc in the Conejo Valley.

Doug - it will definitely get by a lot of Canadians - particularly those who can't stand the Toronto Maple Leafs - which would account for most Canadian hockey fans outside of the Greater Toronto area - and probably a few within that area.

Bruce, I am on your side. You have a real hockey team. I support the Leafs like some folks support the Cubs -- because they are such a bunch of sad-sacks and are sure to disappoint.
And I agree the plate is subtle. It's a long story but I got the plate in tribute to my dad who passed away this past May 10th. He had provided the impetus to do something out-of-character, like impulsively buying this car. Good thing he did.
