Hello from JimJ a new 1980 Fiat Spider owner.

Post by jimj »

I just bought a 1980 Fiat spider for my daughter so I guess I just got another project, but boy am I excited and the cars does not even run. As soon as I figure out how to post some pictures I will. Also I will provide some more information about the action I have taken towards getting to run. I hope some of you will help a newbie out after I post my action as my attempt up till now has been futile.

B/R,

Thanks for the welcoming and assistance with the photos. Tomorrow I hope to post some photos and describe my starting dilemma, just want to review the data I collected before I post it.

Here are a few pictures. I thank you for the help posting them. I will upload a new post “1980 FI Will not Start” under “Engine and Tuning”. I will describe the results of the 19 step “Starter Runs but Will Not Start” diagnostics. I also thank Wine County Motors for their already provided assistance. Any help getting this car started will be greatly appreciated by me and my daughter.

Fuel injected or carbureted? 1980 was the changeover year.
