Hello from Tucson, Arizona

Post by 76TucsonSpider »

Hello everyone,

I'm new to Fiat, but I knew on the short drive home after buying mine last week that this car is with me for life. There aren't very many resources around Tucson (at least not that I've found yet), so this forum is going to be a huge help while I get mine dialed in for me.

Thanks again,

Bobby

there used to be a guy that lived next to the powerplant that had a couple of Fiats. I also remember seeing a couple of Fiats in that mess of wrecking yards over there.

Welcome aboard! There's a few of us around Tucson, including me. There's a few independent mechanics around Tucson that know how to work on classic Fiats. Glad to have another Fiat fan here in the Old Pueblo! :D

coming from down under so this may be a dumb question but how is 'Tucson' actually pronounced?
It is 'Two-son' or 'Tuck-son'?? We had a Hyundai model with that name and my dyslexic brain would read Tuscan (Like Tuscany in Italy???)

the beauty of local pronunciation is you can tell who is a local. Tucson is pronounced "too-sawn". I grew up in the northwest where the french and indians have named most of the landmarks. Spokane (spo-can), Oregon (or-ee-gun), and for Don, Coeur d'alene (core-da-lane), Abarth (?????), Porsche (??????), Testa Rossa (????), the list goes on.
