Just joining. I'm a former Fiat Spider owner from Atlanta. 1980 White w/black. Absolutely loved it - so much that I tolerated mechanical problems from 1984 'til 1998. The poor thing became so unreliable and expensively unfixable I had to sell it (to a buyer who took it to Germany to recondition and sell).... Sad day. I'm in New Hampshire, now, and find myself wanting to own another Spider - '78 - '82, preferably. Perhaps, some 25 years later, (I guess it took me that long to get over my previous love/hate relationship) I can leran more and hopefully find another.

the advantage to owning a spider now is the vast knowledge base available from sites like this. Parts are easy to find and wont break the bank. No guaranty you wont awaken a sleeping dog.
