allllllmost there
stopped by the see the painter yesterday. said he is ready to go. told him i was still a couple of weeks out. I thot the hood and trunk lid were done when i stacked them in the garage a couple of years ago. turned out they had both been primered in and out. did a 400g dry on the underside of the trunk lid. lots of detail, but done. the top side was a different story. Had some serious flat issues, so sanded down to metal in some places and layed down a very thick coat of primer. have about a half hour left on the underside of the hood. the top side feels very flat. we'll see when i apply the paper to it. The goal is to have the hood done by noon saturday and back on the trunk lid. if all goes well next week will be devoted to cleaning and inspecting panels, little touch up sand and mounting panels for a trip to the painter. Cant wait to finally get it out of the back yard and out on asphalt.

Anytime you sand to bear metal you need to spray epoxy primer first. Then your primer...
