Auxiliary Air Regulator

Post by geecee »

Hi,

I have a general question...what is the purpose of the metal clip on top of the Auxiliary Air Regulator?
It's fastened on the AAR by the clamps that also hold the tubing in place.
I replaced the tubing with silicon ones, and I would prefer to avoid clamps of any kind as it's strongly reccommended.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Old pic, are you referring to the hook like item? (middle of silicone front tube)

Hi Jay,

I see from your first picture that you have switched to the silicon tubes as well and eliminated the clip (metal thingy on top of the AAR). So if you haven't had any issue, I guess mine won't be missed either!! Thank you.

Anyone out there knows what's that clip for anyway??

I must have misread the original posting  Correct, the clip was not required due to the fact that the silicone is so tight it will not move

Thanks again for the feedback.
So, I check out the previous tread as well, but I have one more question.... did you notice having a hard time starting up the car cold after installing the silicon tubes?
The inner diameter is smaller by far compared to the old ones.

As for the clip, you are right. I drove my Bruna around all weekend without any issue. I guess, like you said, the clip was there to hold the clamps in place. So far so good!
