'81 won't restart and FI fuel lines

Silly question but I just want to make sure...

The line that goes from the fuel tank -> fuel pump should go to the fuel pressure regulator right? I just wanted to ensure that I didn't hookup the supply / return fuel lines backwards after my restore. Trying to determine why the '81 won't start after my interior rebuild.

Fuel line on mine goes directly to the fuel rail. The line on the bottom of the reg goes back to the tank.

That would explain why the car doesn't start! I think I hooked it up backwards. So I guess the fuel goes into the fuel line and then the reg relieves the pressure above 39 PSI and returns the fuel back to the fuel tank. That makes sense. Hope I didn't ruin the fuel regulator! :?

I wish I looked at this picture before...

It's amazing how easy the car starts when I hookup the fuels lines the RIGHT way!

The temp went up to about 200, radiator hoses were hot and fan came on!

Unfortunately I noticed some smoke from the exhaust/cam cover (hard to tell).

I did spill some coolant on the exhaust manifold but I think there might be a leak in the exhaust/cam gasket. I think maybe the SeaFoam I put in the gas may have exposed a weak point because when I 1st got the car I didn't noticed the leak.
