Re: Dist swap
I'm reaching with the memory here and don't know if there is any correlation really but I changed the tach gauge as well when I swapped on the 72. Memory tells me that a member here had issues with the tach jumping around on the original gauge with the electronic ignition but then swapped to a later tach and all was good.
Try it if you have one about.

Re: Dist swap
I'm running a deep dish 71 tach with a computronix ignition. all is well.
Re: Dist swap
Did you change the coil to the unbalasted coil or keep the points type coil?

This link may be of some use: http://www.mirafiori.com/faq/content/ta ... achfix.htm.
I haven't done the fix yet, so with my stock dizzy/coil, the tach still bounces occasionally.
