Checking in
I have been fortunate to find the same Fiat I drove in HS and college and begin driving it again. I must say, thanks to this board, it has been much easier to do the repairs the second time around! Looking forward to years of shared joy.

Now wait a minute, you're not getting off that easy.
We need to hear the story.
Where are you from by the way?

Re: Checking in
Been lurking for years and didn't realize I missed the reply to my post with a question.
I restored two Fiats in High School. The second one has much of the first (40%?) as I combined it with another (two parts cars) to get a solid car running. I drove it through high school and undergrad. I had to sell it to pay for grad school. About 10 years after that (and constantly looking in the classifieds for another good Fiat) I found "my" spider for sale. Negotiations were quick and the gentleman who was selling held it for me as I was out-of-state and needed a few days for a chance to drive in. So now I have my "original" car back. I have to admit, it was much better the second time around. The intervening owners did a great job keeping it in shape. And fixing it up is better the second time around too. Thanks to sites like this one, I can do so much more with confidence.

Re: Checking in
Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum. I live in Sacramento CA and I have just started looking for my first Spider. Like the early ones best but they are all great. I have done several projects over the years but by no means an expert. I have done a '66 Mustang, '41 pickup, '37 pickup over the years. Decided to go small this time and with Italian roots I thought a Spider would be fun. I look forward to chatting as things progress. Thank you in advance!!!
