Ex. Gas Sensor light always on
Ex. Gas Sensor light always on
Short of unplugging the bulb, how do I get that red sensor light in the middle of the dash to shut off. I have had the sensor replaced a few years back but the light stayed on.
Re: Ex. Gas Sensor light always on
is it still on when you unplug the sensor wires ?
that would indicate a wiring problem and not a sensor problem.

There is a box right above gas pedal to reset the light . Do a search on reset oxygen sensor light. Pretty simple to due

Thanks for the tips. First I'll try the reset procedure and keep my fingers crossed that it is not a wiring problem.

Thanks Kolls. Easiest one minute job there is.
The black box was easy to find and mine still had the safety wire on it. After unscrewing the cover and inserting a small screwdriver in the hole, I had a bit of wonder what I was supposed to be pushing on. Then I realized it had a spring behind it and all of a sudden there was a clear "click" and the deed was done and the cover screwed back on. And the light was off for the first time in years.
Now I dont have to answer the question "Why is that red light on?" to everyone who rides with me the first time. I think they worry that the car is about to explode.

You're good for another 30,000 miles and it will come on again. It is a reminder to change the O2 sensor. Not a bad idea to change the timing belt at that point either.MBarfleur wrote:Thanks Kolls. Easiest one minute job there is.
