Is Anyone Happy With Their Carpet Kit?

I've completed my floor pan resto, applied POR 15, EZ cool, and I'm ready for carpet. I know many of you have cut your own and I commend you but I am just not that patient. I've already trashed the roll of carpet I tried to cut myself.

Having said that....
Has anyone purchased an aftermarket kid that they are pleased with?? I see a lot of negative commentary here but very little positive. If you're happy with your carpet kit, please let me know where you got it from.
Thanks.

I think you may have answered your own question (negative feedback on forum lol)

Mine took an hour if that helps. Considerably better investment $

I bought a kit from Ramzi and Csaba at AR that I am happy with, it fit pretty well and the edges are solidly bound. Certainly a lot more expensive than making a set yourself though.

I bought my carpet set from vicks. quality is very nice, but all the corners are rounded, there are a few places like in the sills in front of the door where there is a gap between the carpet and the sill plastic. corners of the back seat suffer the same issue. If you are running with map pockets, you probably wouldnt even see it. There is lots of lapover between the pieces. A full custom cut would provide a far better fit at a much cheaper price. you need to be practiced at the sport to keep your edges clean and pretty. If you want the edges bound, that's a different story.

I ordered a maroon carpet kit from Stock Interiors for about $210. I have to admit I wish I had spent more money on a better kit. Very poor quality. i suspect i will be replacing it over the winter if I make some of the changes to the interior that are planned. Wasted money and the phrase "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.

I did the custom DIY route. Given what I did and how I did it, it probably wasn't all that much cheaper, but the fit is well... Perfect.
Carpet @ $11.00 a yard x 6 yards = $66. ( bought enough to do the trunk ). ( roll is 12 ft long)
Carpet shipping to the carpet store $60.00
Binding the edges @$1.50/foot $115
Padding $28.00
Total cost $ 269

This is commercial grade loop carpet. They have many colors to choose from. Good backing, fairly easy to cut with a sharp knife. Time will tell on the "wear" factor. Very pleased at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback.
I went ahead and bought a "cost effective" set for the moment. This will allow me to get her back on the road while I consider the options. I really want an old school loop carpet but it's hard to find in tan. I don't want to dip into my transmission fund for carpet so it's a compromise at the moment.

Follow up:
So, I received the kit I ordered from Newark. They shipped the same day and got it in 3 days. As ordered, I received the "cost effective" kit and that's what I got but, I have to say, it fit well, installed easily and looks much better than I would have accomplished on my own. I can also use them in the future as proper templates (which I didn't have) if I decide to to cut my own and have them bound on the edges. For what I paid, I'm not complaining and it looks a lot better than it did.
