so here's what happened, I had the spider running great, was just waiting on a new intake boot to allow her to run above idle, and I screwed up by hooking a battery up, which had the terminals reversed. Thus frying my alternator. And now with a new battery fully charged it wont attempt to turn over, I only hear a click sound coming from the relay board. I'm ordering a new alt. this Monday. My theory is that the starter relay was fried as well, so my question would be how do i test the starter / starter relay? Any feedback on what you think the issue is, would be great!

I'll post pics of spider later today.

I purchased it from my mother who had it for 25yrs, and has 57,000 original miles, it had been sitting for 5yrs prior to buying it. After some minor work ( Fuel pump, spark plugs, new fuel lines, cleaned injectors, new intake boot, new fuel pump/ FI relay, cleaned out gas tank) she fired right up and ran great /sounded great, then I created this electrical issue, when i was so close to cruising around town.

Is the defective alternator disconnected from the car. A shorted diode in your bad alternator could load a good battery enough to cause your problem. Disconnect the alternator. The wires on the post of the alternator have to be connected together after they are removed from the alternator. Their connection brings battery voltage to the ignition switch.
I doubt any damage was done to the starter solenoid.
Where are u located?
Hope this helps

so after disconnecting the wires from the alt and reconnecting them together. It should attempt to turn over again?
