Let me start by apologizing if this is some easy/stupid/nonsense question- but frankly, I do not even know what I am looking at enough to start a search for it. I think it is part of the electrical system, but in my car, it is merely grounded to the engine bay. I have no idea what it does, where it should go or if it is even necessary. I hope one of the Spider Sages can be of assistance. Thanks!
I have no idea what this is...

What year is your car? it is most likely a relay. They relocated relays from the drivers side fendor to under the glove box at one point. If it is a relay, it may not be wired up correctly based on only two wires positive and ground shown in your picture. Cleaning it up a little may reveal more clues such as volt, amps, part numbers. Trace the two wires and compare the wire colors and attached componenets to the wiring diagram for your year.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

Not sure if that is original to car, but that is a high blower relay off an old GM product. We used to use them when we installed accesories on vehicles.
If car has hang on Air conditioning, it may be for that.

I think it is a relay also. Also I don't think it can work with only 2 wires connected to it. If it is the relay I am familiar with it needs 2 wires connected for the relay coil and at least 2 wires for the contacts.

So this is interesting... Because if this is for some sort of AC, it is not the first piece that would indicate that the car had it at some point. Note the past tense. I think there is an AC compressor near the front of the engine- but alas, no AC controls in the car (unless I am colossally missing something).majicwrench wrote:Not sure if that is original to car, but that is a high blower relay off an old GM product. If that car had some sort of hang on ac, inside it would have been under the dash on pas side, and controls likely would have been on the unit. Unit gets ripped out to give pass foot room. Who needs ac in a spider??
