'81 has 2 notches on crank pulley

I'm in the process of trying to set my timing on my '81 FI car. It runs well after timing belt replacement (even when accelerating and going at 60mph+) but want to get timing correct. So I was looking on the crankshaft pulley and it looks like there is a notch on the inner part (near the engine) of the pulley that doesn't line up with the notch of the outer part of the pulley (near the rad).
Here's a few pics...
The general area... you can see the white mark just above the indicator bracket
A closer view... notch seen through the hole and the white paint on outer notch.
So I'm thinking I'll use the inner notch and set the timing using the hole in the indicator bracket. I can't even see the indicator bracket anways because of all the rad pipes, etc...

The proper crank mark will be just to the right of the timing bracket with the fingers showing the 0, 5 and 10 timing. You should have a good line of site with a timing light moving forward from the view in your picture and pointing back toward the engine. So you will be looking from the radiator side of accessory belt. It is not the inner mark you see through the hole in the bracket. Just watch out for the fan blades when the engine is running!

Thanks. I'll ignore that inner mark then.
I'll try that angle but tough with the hood installed. But maybe from above with my head over the rad area. I should put some paint on the indicators marks as well.

I do it more from an angle / side closer to the passenger headlight vs. From over the top of the radiator centerline. But I am telling you from memory, so I might be off a bit

Finished adjusting timing. If anyone does their timing belt I'd suggest painting a white line where the notch on the craft pulley is all the way across the pulley (except where the belt is of course). I found looking through the hole in the indicator mark bracket was the easiest to see on my '81.

Glad you got it done. Just curious, were you able to see the fingers on the bracket for the 0. 5, 10 btdc positions through the hole? from an another site
