hello- I have a 78 124 spider with about 80k miles on it.
My spider started fine today, but I noticed that I have to hold the key in its start position in order for the engine to remain running. As soon as I let the key turn back to ON position, the engine stops running. On my way back home, I had to hold the key turned all the way to right with one hand, shift and steer with the other hand.
Do you think I need to replace my ignition switch? Or what else could be an issue here?
If I do need a new ignition switch and keys, any recommendation on the most economical part would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: IGNITION PROBLEMS
Read my "Dolore Nel Culo" post and I think you'll agree that you are probably in need of a new ignition switch,...
