My son and I picked up a 1979 fiat Spider late last summer. It's the light blue color with the tan interior and tan top. it's in storage for the winter and i don't have any pics at this time. I will post them when spring rolls around. Mechanically it's in good shape but does need ball joints and i few other minor things. It's a one owner car an came with the original title from 1979. the titles back them were much different than today's and I had to look it over closely to be sure that it was real; my son said to me, what the hell it that paper?
the car came with a universal electric fuel pump and made the car difficult to start. Once we installed the mechanical one it starts up on the first crank. the gas tank was rotted out, we rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the ignition switch. It does need some minor body work, paint and a new top; I could go on all day. I have about 90% of the parts needed to complete everything.
The one thing that I'm still missing is the R/rocker panel (outer) and the inner rear rocker section that needs to be welded in place. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know.

Re: Newbie from New Jersey
I hope you made a copy of that old title! I bought a Spider in 1998 that came with the original title from 1971, unfortunately the car was wrecked in 2003.
I believe all the Fiat parts vendors would have those parts.
