Hi everyone. I have recently bought a 124 BS1 Spider 1972/3 The chassis plate starts ' 124BS10060......'
The plate also shows the engine type as ' 125BC000 '
The German registration document shows the engine size as a 1597cc.
This is where I am confused.
The engine number is for a 1608cc not a 1597cc. The chassis plate confirms a 1608cc engine and the engine block number is a 1608cc. The car has been in Germany all the time and has a German/Fiat weight plate.
So, why has the reg doc got a 1597cc. ?
The reg doc shows the correct chassis number on the car but has no engine number on it.
Also, the reg doc shows the reg date as July 1973, but looking at the chassis numbers lists it could be a '72.
Sooo confusing.
Any ideas and thought gratefully received.
