Denial and not the river in Egypt

Post by 4uall »

In the last week Fiona has given me a few starting issues  Sometimes it would take a little longer to start, have no power, thought it was a loose ground etc etc etc. until last night after trying to start her there was white smoke coming out of the hood  I quickly opened the hood to see the smoke streaming out of the starter  Was in complete denial up to that point

Within 12 hrs I was driving out to Canadan's house with Spiderdan leading the way 8) Turns out I was lucky that it was the grounding wire from the starter to the bellhousing/frame (it was completely cracked, covered in oil and bare wires). Canadan made that and another from the firewall to the engine block so the clutch cable is not used as a ground (just in case).

If you suspect something, check it out and don't wait until it's too late

I'm grateful for my friends & this forum and hopefully, see some of you on Sunday at Raduno Montebello 8)

Jay,
Car is driving well... Hoping to see you guys 9am on Preston for the drive to Montebello. Did you reserve for brunch? If so, what time? Looks like 4 time slots available.

Dreaded click of death? Total silence?
Disconnect battery and clean those bullet connectors near starter and do a visual on the starter connections. Have a look at engine to body ground.
