Hello Fiat fans,

New member here with his first Fiat. The car is a white 1972 124 1600 sport spider. I got the car just before the holidays and it had sat for 15 years (inside) before I bought it. Only one owner before me, the car is in great shape except for the top (but the new one should be delivered this week). I've looked at MANY Canadian spiders and this Michigan car is the best one I've seen in years. The price was right, and so the car came home with me.

I'll be doing some major engine work, complete with new carbs and exhaust. I will be sure to post pictures of the whole build/tuning experience. I'm an automotive engineer by day, so expect charts and graphs! I hope to provide some data that people can actually use. I'm also a new dad, so progress might be touch and go.

The plan for the car is to compete in the Ontario Time Attack competition this year, but also to be plated and registered for summer drives to the office. The first event is June 4th, 2016 so I have a LOT to do before then. I will be on the hunt for spares of all sorts, so if you can help me out in the Southern Ontario/Detroit area, please drop me a line!

Hey Pat, welcome and congrats on the Spider! I'm located in Detroit metro and hope to see you at some FLUiD events this coming summer. Also, as you may know, the national FIAT Freakout event is in Detroit this year. It will be a great gathering of Fiat, Lancia, and Alfa Romeo enthusiasts

Thanks for the warm welcome!

4UAll, I grew up in Ottawa and moved down here only 4 years ago. I used to make it to occasional MCO events and crewed for an Ontario Performance Rally Championship team.
