Non-Ignition electrics dead

Post by mm1000 »

I have a 1975 Spider. All was going well until I removed the centre console and then the clock, headlights, hazard warning lights, door courtesy - basically all 12V circuits that aren't operate day the ignition don't work. Is there an obvious feed wire for all of these that i might have disturbed when removing the centre console.

All thoughts welcome!!

Almost everything seems to pass through the hazard switch, so make sure the connector is fully seated on the rear of it. It is easy for it to become dislodged.

I am not positive but I believe there is at least 1 "hot all the time" fuse in the fuse panel. HAve you checked the fuses???

Thanks for the replies.

My initial thought was the hazard warning switch as this stopped the indicators from working when it was faulty. The problem was deeper though as there was no power on some of the fuses with or without ignition. I went through all of them, inc. under the bonnet.

I ended chasing the wires to their sources and it turned out there were loose connections to the ignition barrel under the rubber sleeve! I now have got everything working except for the fog lights in the rear bumper I'm not sure how you turn them on anyway!!
