My car has been popping through the carburetor. Occasional this happens while driving. It also is happening a lot while starting.
I recently changed the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, condenser and points (the car is running much stronger since).
I only drive the car on an occasional weekend and it has always been difficult to start and get up to steady revs.
Anyone have any suggestions what I should be looking at.

Re: 78 spider 124 popping up thru carburator
I checked the points and they were way off. The manual states 12 to 19 degrees. I set them at 16 degrees and the car now starts and runs great.
I am wondering, what is the different affect setting the points towards either 12 or 19 degrees?
