Hi,
I’ve got a 1608 with 13/15 IDF 40’s on a waffletop manifold with a hacked up turtleback aircleaner.
The IDFs are fed with a rotary pump and regulator with a return set to 3 PSI. Since the regulator has a return I blocked off the return at the IDFs.
I drive the car regularly and it’s fine on the road. When I park the car after a drive if I come back into the garage 10-60 minutes later the garage reeks of gas.
I’ve inspected the gas cap, fuel lines and the carb base all seemed fine no evidence of leakage.
Anyone have ideas what could be causing the stench?

Re: IDFs making my garage stink
I would think, that with the IDF return blocked, The IDFs are still under 3psi pressure until they bleed the bowl and feed line back to atmosphere (garage). Reactivate the IDF return back to the discharge of the regulator (tank). Can't hurt anything.
