Temporary Fuel Pump Hook Up
My Fiat doesn't start and I have a new fuel pump for it, but I also need to basically replace the fuel tank, pick up, and lines before it's ready to run again. In the meantime, I'm trying to get my Fiat over to a friend's house where he has a slab that will help me weld in the new floor pans I have. I want to wire up the new fuel pump and use a temporary set up to make it so I can move the car under it's own power. Has anyone ever done something like that, and if so, how'd you do it?

Are the metal lines from the trunk to the engine compartment usable?
If so, you install an electronic pump in the trunk and power it from the ignition switch. If the lines are not usable, you could run temp hose on the outside.

A friend with a pickup truck, a long tow strap, and very careful drivers both in the truck and in the Fiat. Works just fine for small distances at low speed. Now, if you have to travel 30 miles on the highway to your friend's house, I'd suggest something different.neoknight88 wrote:Has anyone ever done something like that, and if so, how'd you do it?
