I have a 1980 Spider 2000 with fuel injection. After driving for about 90 minutes or more, I get a loss of power. It feels like the engine is not getting fuel although if I put it in neutral, it revs normally. It is when a load is put on it that it loses power. If I turn it off for a few minutes, it starts and runs nicely for a few miles and then repeats the power loss. I have replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter but the problem persists. Any thoughts?

Re: Gas starvation
AFM, fuel sock in the tank, hose line interior failure, pump overheating/failing.

Re: Gas starvation
Fuel Pressure Regulator on th fuel rail. There is some discussion about it, Not sure if yours is a symptom. Only other thing in the line except as the previous post mentioned fuel lines or gas tank not venting with the charcoal canister

Re: Gas starvation
when the power loss occurs have you removed the gas cap? I had a venting issue and when removing gas cap i could hear air entering the tank. I didn't notice a loss of power but I don't know if i had been driving that long. There is a check valve above and behind the rear axle on the driver side that was clogged with slime.
I don't think there is a sock on the FI fuel pick up tube in the fuel tank.
When you had the fuel filter off did you blow out the fuel line and/or vent lines with compressed air??
Just this week I was helping someone with a brake issue on an 82 Spider. I noticed the fuel line between the tank and the pump was leaking at the pump. When tightening i held the line and noticed it felt unusually soft. I removed it from the pump and could see the rubber inner hose had been sucked (collapsed) from the outer braid. We replaced the fuel line between the tank and the pump.

Re: Gas starvation
The old short braided line between the pump and filter failed on mine, Luckily I was in my driveway. I have since replaced all the rubber lines, The Ethanol in modern gas further degrades the rubber. #1 on Spider2081
